RETAIL’S BEST OFFERS A SMART WAY TO DO BUSINESS

PRESS RELEASE

RETAIL’S BEST OFFERS A SMART WAY TO DO BUSINESS

As an independent retailer and forecourt operator himself, Moiz Vas knows only too well how precious every moment is that’s spent away from the business. That’s why he’s developed a smart way for retailers and suppliers alike to do business at Retail’s Best, a fresh, new concept in events that he has developed. Following the success of the first event in May, which focused on forecourts, Retail’s Best Convenience & Forecourt Partners will take place in London Stansted on 26 November.

Held in the evening, away from the demanding work environment, Retail’s Best focuses on giving retailers and suppliers effortless networking opportunities, bringing big brands and independent retailers together in a relaxed and informal setting.

Other retailers agree that this is a smarter way to do business. Like Shane Thakrar, head of business development at HKS, one of the leading independent operators of filling stations and convenience stores with 27 sites nationally and ranked 9th in the top indies list. Says Thakrar: “Having the exhibition after dinner is brilliant – it’s more relaxed and informal”.

And it works for participating suppliers too. Says Neil Foster, director of sales and marketing at EK Williams: “We had really good discussions with retailers and I think we’re going to do some really good business as a result.”

A smart exhibition, with around 10 invited exhibitors, forms an integral part of the event. It gives a carefully selected handful of non-competing businesses, and other related services, the chance to get to know potential new customers better and understand their requirements. EK Williams was one of the exhibitors at the first Retail’s Best event in May and has been invited back for the autumn event.

With the hot topics of conversation amongst retailers at the moment focused on equipment, accounting and financing, the first five exhibitors to be announced for Retail’s Best Convenience & Forecourt Partners are:
• Country Choice – the leading supplier of in-store bakery and retail foodservice products
• EK Williams – nationwide retail accounting specialists
• Bluefin Insurance – one of the UK’s leading insurance brokers
• Vianet Fuel Solutions – providers of wet stock management
• DC Payments UK – previously InfoCash, now part of DirectCash Payments Inc, the second largest independent deployer of cash machines in the world

More exhibitors will be announced in due course.

Five of the most dynamic players in the convenience and forecourt industries will be partnering this event:
• Bestway’s Best-one symbol group is the official symbol partner
• JET is the official motor fuel partner
• MICROS is the official EPOS partner, for the second time
• Tokheim and The Jordon Group will both be sub partners

Adds Vas: “Retail’s Best is an event ‘by retailers, for retailers’ with the focus on helping suppliers to improve their business with us by better understanding our operational needs”. More events are planned for next year.
