Partners for November event announced

Retail’s Best’s unique ingredient of being ‘run by retailers, for retailers’ has proved so successful since its launch event in May this year that suppliers are already signing up to be involved with future Retail’s Best events. The next one – Retail’s Best Convenience & Forecourt Partners – takes place on 26 November 2014 in London, Stansted with three of the most dynamic players in the convenience and forecourt industries choosing to partner the event:

• Bestway’s Best-one symbol group is the official symbol partner

• JET is the official motor fuel partner

• MICROS is the official EPOS partner, for the second time.

Guy Pulham, manager, regional sales at JET, says: “JET is delighted to come on the journey with Retail’s Best as the official motor fuel partner this November. When Moiz Vas introduced the concept to us we were impressed by the unique event format he had developed and were very keen to get involved. 2014 marks JET’s 60th anniversary so what better way to bring our year of celebrations towards a close than by supporting an event that sees some of the UK’s biggest and most successful names in independent forecourt retailing come together.”

Colin Reeve, director EAME development at MICROS, says: ‘The first Retail’s Best event proved a huge success for us. The format of having non-competing partners is really good, giving the retailers focus and giving the vendors good access and effortless networking opportunities. We received excellent feedback from our customers.”

Retail’s Best is a new concept in business networking events created by independent retailer, Moiz Vas, whose family runs two c-stores and one garage forecourt in Norfolk. Having run a series of successful ‘customer nights’ for suppliers, Vas had the vision to create his own brand of events, developing closer ties between operators, owners and suppliers to work in partnership, drive innovation and grow their businesses.

The first Retail’s Best in May this year saw Gulf, Londis, MICROS and Tokheim working together in a non-competitive environment. This event succeeded in attracting a high profile guest list of some 200 retailers, representing a total of over 700 sites and accounting for 50% of the top 50 independent forecourt retailers in the UK. Add to that the official support of the Petrol Retailer’s Association (PRA) and Retail’s Best Forecourt Partners proved to be the perfect model for success.
