When Retail’s Best launched in May this year, it proved so successful that suppliers are already signing up to be involved with future Retail’s Best events. The next one is planned for 26 November 2014 in London, Stansted, with JET confirmed as the official motor fuel partner, Best-One as the official symbol partner and MICROS the official EPOS partner for the second time.

Guy Pulham, manager, regional sales at JET, says: “2014 marks JET’s 60th anniversary, so what better way to bring our year of celebrations towards a close than by supporting an event that sees some of the UK’s biggest and most successful names in the independent forecourt retailing come together”.

Retail’s Best is a new concept in business networking events. Its unique ingredient is that it’s run ‘by retailers, for retailers’. Retail’s Best was created by independent retailer, Moiz Vas, whose family runs two c-stores and one garage forecourt in and around the Norfolk village of Coltishall. Having run a series of successful ‘customer nights’ for suppliers, Vas saw the opportunity to create his own brand of events, developing closer ties between operators and owners and the companies that supply their equipment and the goods they sell.

The first Retail’s Best event in May this year saw Gulf, Londis, MICROS and Tokheim working together in partnership, in a non-competitive environment, to share ideas, drive innovation and grow their businesses. This first event succeeded in attracting a high profile guest list of some 200 retailers, representing a total of over 700 sites and accounting for 50% of the top 50 independent forecourt retailers in the UK. Add to that the official support of the Petrol Retailer’s Association (PRA) and Retail’s Best Forecourt Partners proved to be the perfect model for success.
